Our bodies are exposed to thousands of toxins every day, and our bodies constantly work hard to get rid of those toxins. Don’t you think it’s time to give your body a break?
Detoxing makes you feel cleaner, refreshed and lighter. If you are feeling tired, sluggish, or generally off, a detox may help you reboot.
A detox is a period of time where you abstain from toxic or unhealthy substances, ridding your body of toxins. After giving your body that needed break, your natural detoxing systems will be stronger and more efficient. We recommend detoxing once a year—a great New Year tradition!
Caution! There are many different ways to detox; it is important to do research before beginning any programs. Some can leave you feeling sick, achy, crampy or cause diarrhea. Some are actually unsafe. Nevertheless, there many safe and healthy detox programs. Follow the guidelines below to ensure that you choose a safe option.
Here are the general steps for a safe and simple detox.
1. Eliminate consuming toxins like alcohol, cigarettes, coffee, saturated fats and refined sugars. Also, decrease your exposure to chemical-based products. It is a good time to replace cleaners, soaps, toothpaste and shampoos with natural- or organic-based products.
2. Most detoxes last 3 to 7 days and involve abstaining from consuming most foods except for fruits and vegetables. Often longer detoxes begin with fasting on liquids, followed by a regimented diet. You should find a method that works for you. This blog describes 28 ways.
3. Boost your detox by including supplements to help your liver and kidneys.
I recommend a pill called Adva Clear, one pill twice daily with food. Adva Clear is a high quality supplement that combines 26 top ingredients that help support the liver in both of the main phases of detoxification. It is a gentle detox. It is good for people with swelling or dark circles around the eyes.
I also recommend Renagen DTX, which helps to support the kidneys in the roll they play in detoxification. These are both very gentle and don’t usually cause any adverse reactions at all. Note: If you get a little achy from detoxing, I would suggest cutting down the dose and going slower with the program. We all run at our own pace.
4. After your detox, make sure to re-introduce foods slowly and stick with high fiber foods like brown rice, fruits and veggies.
For a stronger more intense detox that is clinically proven safe and healthy, I recommend Clear Change. It is a 10-day detox that includes a plant-based medicinal powder that you use along with Adva Clear. Clear Change comes with instructions on how to complete the program and includes recommended foods for the 10 days.
